What it is
Two or three paragraphs: what a session sounds like, how you answer, what subjects you can be quizzed on, and how it handles a wrong answer while you're out of breath. Describe the experience, not the feature list.
A second paragraph for anything unusual — for example, that the screen stays in your pocket the whole time, that it works with no signal, or that a session is the length of a walk rather than a set number of questions.
What's in it
- A feature, described in a few words.
- Another.
- A third.
What this title stores
Your progress and settings stay on your device. Hands-Free Quiz has no account, no server of ours, no analytics, and no advertising. What you've answered and how you've set it up are saved only on your phone, and deleting the app deletes them.
One thing is still being decided: how your speech is understood. Recognising a spoken answer can be done entirely on the phone, or by sending audio to the platform's speech service. We have not settled which this app will use. Before it is released, this page will say plainly which one it is, and if any audio or transcript leaves your device, the app will tell you and ask before it does. We would rather leave this blank than fill it with a promise we haven't earned.
Terms for this title
These supplemental terms apply to Hands-Free Quiz in addition to Fandonia's general Terms of Use, which govern all of our games and apps. Where the two conflict, the terms on this page control for this title only. Everything in the general Terms that isn't changed here still applies.
1. Use it safely — please read this one
You are moving through the real world. The app is not watching it for you. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times. Obey traffic signals and local law. Keep the volume low enough that you can still hear traffic, bicycles, and people, and consider a single earbud or bone-conduction headphones rather than sealing both ears. Do not use it where crossing, traffic, uneven ground, darkness, weather, or other people demand your full attention.
Playing a quiz while you run or walk divides your attention, and divided attention is how people get hurt. You are responsible for deciding when it is safe to play and for your own safety while you do. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, collision, falls, property damage, or loss arising from using the app while moving. If you would not do it while reading a book, do not do it with this.
2. What this title is
Hands-Free Quiz is a game. It is not a fitness tracker, a training plan, a coach, or a medical device. It does not measure your pace, distance, heart rate, effort, or health, and nothing it says should be treated as advice about exercise. Quiz content is for entertainment and casual learning; questions are drawn from general knowledge and may be simplified or occasionally wrong. Do not rely on it for anything that matters.
If you have a heart condition, a balance or hearing impairment, or any other reason exercise carries risk for you, talk to your doctor about exercising — not to us, and not to a quiz app.
3. The microphone
The app asks for microphone access so it can hear your answers, and it listens only while a quiz is running. You can refuse or revoke that permission at any time in your device's settings; the app will say what it can and cannot do without it. How the speech itself is processed is still being decided, and section 4 of this page will state it before release — see the note above.
4. Speech processing (to be completed before release)
When decided, replace this paragraph with one of the two: (a) recognition runs entirely on the device, nothing is transmitted, no audio or transcript is stored; or (b) audio or transcripts are sent to Apple's or Google's speech service for recognition, naming the service, what is sent, how long they keep it under their own policy, and confirming we never receive or store it. Then update /privacy to match, since every title's storage statement forms part of that policy.
5. Purchases in this title
State the model once it's decided. If there are in-app purchases or a subscription, list each one with its price and what it unlocks — and if it is a subscription, the length, the price, the auto-renewal terms, how to cancel, and any free trial must all be stated here.
Purchases are sold by Apple or Google under their terms. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from — see the support page.
6. Age rating and content
Hands-Free Quiz is rated 12+ on the App Store and Teen on Google Play because of general-knowledge content that occasionally touches adult subjects. It contains no user-to-user communication and no gambling. Because it is used while moving outdoors, it is not aimed at children.
7. Sharing and streaming
You may share recordings of your sessions, including monetized videos and streams. A link back to fandonia.app is appreciated but not required.
8. Changes to this page
If these supplemental terms change, we'll update the effective date above and, for anything material, say so in the app's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
